If you need to upgrade your Java plugin (not as easy as it sounds), here is a good place to start: Download Now. I have managed to run the applet on a Windows 2000, a Windows XP box and on Debian and Fedora linux boxes, so it definitely works, but I and other have had trouble with it (the problem with living on the bleeding edge), so don't feel bad if its hard to get going.

The Source (along with class files) can be downloaded here. The source was based on that found at here and my thanks go out to Sorin Gherman for making his source available. If you're interested in the write up I did for this project and submitted to my AI course, it can be downloaded (in ps format, e-mail me if you need something else) here.

The defaults will give a reasonable game, if you want to see it play quite well, try a board size 5, with a depth of 3 (the setting button to the right of the algorithm name). I find this challenging but beatable. I have never beat a board of size 5, with black having a depth of 6.
