I was working at DesignMind, Inc., a web development company focusing on Java technology in late 2001 and early 2002. When I first went to San Francisco (right out of Queen's University) I signed up to work at a 10 person start-up called Moonlight Systems, Inc. Both are still operating despite my non-involvement (a fact which may be amazing to some, obvious to others ;-).

I was a Don on Leonard 3rd East (the only all male residence at Queen's University) in 1999/2000, which was an incredible experience and was a don on Morris 2nd floor (which is really the third floor, but its all quite confusing) in 2000/2001. Both floors were groups of really amazing people and Morris was a very different experience from Leonard.

I'm interested in Computers (I suppose this one is obvious due to the fact that I have my own homepage and am studying Computer Science ), Reading (Robert Jordan was my fav, although I've been a bit dissappointed with his last two books...), Role-playing and Wargames (to a certain degree, but I feel myself [SHUDDER] growing out of them -> I haven't played either for quite some time), Japanese Animation (Anime), Movies (independant films are really cool), and I was the Spectrum of the Arts Coordinator for the Office of the director of residence in 1999/2000, a big name for a job that's basically alot of fun!. It was the first time I was actually supervising other people and it was a valuable experience.

In the summer of 2000 I worked at Nortel in Ottawa doing sanity testing (computer software testing), tech support, and small projects that came my way. It was a HUGE change from academia, but a very welcome change at the time and it was one of the most educational summers of my life. Our nations capital is a beautiful area. Many knowledgable sources claim that my absence from the company is what has led to the huge stock drop, to which I have nothing to offer as a counter arguement :-).

I was connected to the net via Rogers Cable @Home package at one point and was quite disappointed. I looked seriously into Bell's sympatico offer, which uses a 1 Meg modem developed by, you guessed it, Nortel! :-) Back at Queen's I was on Resnet which is better than both of the above in my opinion.

In my last term at Queen's I completed my undergrad thesis which is an implementation of a squad level wargame.
